STREET POETRY: INK MAY FADE

Ink inside as deep as I feel
To show the world in not so many words
A pattern has feeling
A picture says it all.

You should never do it!
Most would say
Things will change
Why put yourself though it!

But how I feel inside
Has grown to be me
If It changes or not
I can not say
But I can say
That you will always be there.

The ink may fade but my feelings will not.

FEATURED ART: INJECT ME by Marc Simonetti

Marc Simonetti’s “Inject Me” is an edgy, alternative take on Alice in Wonderland, portraying Alice as a junkie having a heart attack. The subject matter may be dark, but the artwork is simply stunning, filled with Wonderland’s trademark color and detail.  It’s a truly beautiful, but harrowing look at Alice without her muchness.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: CAROLYN SPRAGUE

Carolyn Sprague is a 22 year old aspiring singer/songwriter with a deep passion for both poetry and music. “I live and breathe for music,” she said, ” it’s completely all of me.  There is not a dawn nor night that passes where I do not write, and unlike most people, I have a very diverse taste in music and I am not ashamed of what I listen to.”

Her soulful lyrics display a youthful and passionate exhuberance which cover such diverse topics as love,  2012, and The Wizard of Oz.

Some say I dream in wonderland others say you can find me walking down the yellow brick road making my way to the wonderful world of OZ I may live in this creation fueled by my own imagination but here with the fluffy bunny’s mad hatters and the click of my heels I find my way home

When falling into my slumber I submerge in a reality that isn’t real I feel so safe here though they all welcome me back tipping there hats calling my name I love this place I never want to leave with all the birds singing and the sipping of tea how could I go and what else would I know

When my life is slipping out from under me it’s usually the Wicked Witch or the Red Queen that are after me they can never leave me alone to be free and roam always coming down upon me trying to teach when I don’t want to learn though there methods because what they do is wrong

When falling into my slumber I submerge in a reality that isn’t real I feel so safe here though they all welcome me back tipping there hats calling my name I love this place I never want to leave with all the birds singing and the sipping of tea how could I go and what else would I know

I will always be home where they can’t harm me as long as I’m in this fantasy sounded by ever lasting love
Ill sail across the rain bow and right back down into the rabbit hole if you think you can play nice will come and follow or take this advice and leave me and the pay the price.
