TATTOOBOULEVARD ART

Gorgeous digital art created exclusively for Tattoo Boulevard by Anton Leginkov.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Anton Leginkov is a nineteen year old artist from the Ukraine.  His parents had the stereotypical “Soviet idea” that artists cannot make enough money to earn a living, so at sixteen, he decided to attend Law school and study to become a lawyer.  At eighteen, he realized that drawing was his passion, so he turned in his law books for his tool of choice, a graphite pen, and has been drawing ever since. He is considering attending Art School later this year.  You can follow this rising artist on Facebook here,  http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1698135529

HOW DO YOU DEFINE TATTOO BODYART?

Body art is art made upon parts of the body. The most common forms of body art are tattoos and body piercings,   branding,  full body tattoo and body painting.  These modifications can be temporary or permanent.  More extreme body art can involve things such as mutilation or pushing the body to its limits.  The video below emphasizes Tattoo Boulevards visions of “BODY ART”.

The Tattourist 5 Continents, 1 year, lots of tattoos

The Tattourist is an independent publicly funded documentary of one man’s journey to become a tattoo artist.

Spaning 5 continents over the course of a year, Drippy Gary plans to learn about the history, cultural development and the current methods/styles of the tattoo world. Visiting studios in 15 countries, studying with great tattoo artists to try and fully understand the tattoo he also aims to raise $25,000 for charities and organizations he’s encountered on his past 3 and half years of travelling.
Filming is due to start in april at the international Frankfurt tattoo convention. That is followed by visits to the following countries: Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Russia, China, Japan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, USA and Canada before finally heading back home to England.
This tattoo documentary aims to show the origins of the tattoo and where it went and where it stands in society today. By covering a wide range of styles and methods we want to show the tattoo from its tribal origins all the way to the amazing art form it has evolved into today. CELEBRITY TATTOOS THE LATEST FASHION TREND

Celebrity tattoos are becoming more and more popular with every year that passes. These days it’s common to see well known celebrities from the world of films, sport and music displaying their tattoos and body art on screen or in magazines.

But there was a time when tattoos were looked upon with contempt especially among the leading celebrities of the moment. Anyone who had tattoos was generally regarded as being on the fringes of society. However, all that started to change in the 1960s when prominent stars such as Janis Joplin started the trend for celebrity tattoos. Over time they have become more socially acceptable.

Today, celebrity tattoos have gone mainstream and the culture of celebrity tattoos covers acting, sport, music, models and people who are famous for being famous. Just look at some of the celebrities who are known to have tattoos; 50 Cent, Christina Aguilera, Pamela Anderson, David Beckman, Kelly Clarkson, Johnny Depp, Vin Diesel, Eminem, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Natalie Imbruglia, Angelina Jolie, Anna Kournikova, Lindsay Lohan, Nelly, Kelly Osbourne, Pink, Nicole Richie, Wesley Snipes, Britney Spears, Usher, Holly Valance and Elijah Wood, And there may be many more that could be added to that list who have tattoos hidden in more intimate places.

At present, Angelina Jolie is probably the most famous tattooed celebrity in Hollywood. Her designs include tribal dragons, a tiger and various pieces of foreign writing on her shoulders and arms. And a recent poll that voted her the sexiest woman in the world is further evidence that celebrity tattoos are now widely accepted.

And despite the potential for problems with their work other leading actors also display a wide range of tattoo designs.

In fact Johnny Depp is so heavily tattooed that he routinely has to have his skin painted to cover up his body art before he films certain scenes. However, some of his tattoos remain uncovered during filming and are incorporated into the character he is playing. This is another stong indication that celebrity tattoos are well and truly part of mainstream culture.

Vin Diesel and Wesley Snipes both have a number of tattoos on their arms and chest. Pamela Anderson had a barbed wire design tattooed on her arm for her role in the movie Barb Wire. And when she separated from her husband Tommy Lee, she had the tattoo on her finger that read “Tommy” changed to read “Mommy” to represent her commitment to her children.

Celebrity tattoos are also extremely popular in the music business, especially with rock stars, R&B artists and hip hop stars, such as Eminem, 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake.

However, you don’t have to be a celebrity to get a celebrity tattoo. Anyone can get the hottest tattoo designs available regardless of their level of fame. It doesn’t matter who you are, whether it’s a movie star, rock star, shop assistant or factory worker, you can still enjoy having your own tattoo that makes a powerful statement about who you are and what you believe. And if you want the same type of tattoo as your favorite celebrity, there are many websites and magazines available that display great pictures of celebrity tattoos. So it’s possible to find the celebrity tattoo design that you want within minutes of going online.

Retracing history – aviation architecture.

The availability of thousands of engineering drawings in a digital format gives students of design the opportunity to work from real engineering plans and learn from past masters.

When working in CAD or 3D, these engineering drawings from the 1940s allow you to work with unparalleled accuracy.

These resources have found their way into creative projects as diverse as Movie Set design (James Bond – Quantum of Solace, King Kong) to bass relief sculptures. Of course the engineering drawings are part of the process of keeping old aircraft flying too.

ALTERNATIVE NATURE: INKED NIGHTMARES

Who hasn’t heard the already famous quote – “Nothing says forever like a misspelled tattoo”?

Consider it karma’s way of punching you in the face or ink input error, but treat it with the seriousness it deserves. Whether you thought it would be a great idea for your birthday present or the ultimate drunken adventure, waking up with a misspelled or poorly executed tattoo can be just as traumatic as a mistaken plastic surgical intervention.

Imagine you must face your moment of reckoning – you have an ugly or misspelled tattoo on your chest/arm/leg/hip/neck/wrist or maybe even your forbidden areas. Unfortunately, advice like “do your homework and check the tattooist’s records before you get your own tattoo” or “wear a long-sleeved shirt” isn’t what you want to hear and won’t do you any good. Time traveling is a paradoxical concept and you can’t wear long-sleeved shirts for the rest of your life.

So what can you do? There are three basic remedies:

Get a second tattoo. Not a completely different one which would be so awesome that people will stop looking at the bad one. Get a cover-up tattoo. A professional tattoo artist will always understand how troubling living with an ugly tattoo can be, so don’t hesitate to ask them to do a cover up over the old one. If all goes well, you won’t have to suffer the shame anymore.

Get it removed. It may be a royal pain in the butt, not only physically, but also psychologically and economically to get a tattoo out of your system. However, if you don’t think you can cope with the idea of having to share your skin with a monster, then laser treatment may be your only option.

Live with it. If you don’t have the disposition to get a bad tattoo removed or covered up because of the mental trauma you suffered during the inking process, then ultimately you can try to give that ugly tattoo of yours a chance. See if you can learn to live with it and if you can turn it into your advantage. After all, an ugly or misspelled tattoo can be a really funny discussion topic at all times. Not to mention you’d be doing the world a great favor by being the living proof of what can happen if you end up under the needle of a lousy tattoo artist.

Whatever you decide to do with your poorly executed tattoo, you should do it with the confidence that others share your pain and are willing to help you straighten things out. Don’t hesitate to ask your loved ones for advice or support.
